The Holiday season is in full swing and with it came its partner in crime Flu Season. None of you want to be sick during a time meant for gatherings and celebrations. We believe that preventive care is your best option to stay healthy and happy. As my Grandfather used to say, “When did Noah build the ark? Before the rain.”
One of the most important tools you can give your body is Zinc (ZN.) Recent studies have shown that many Americans suffer a zinc deficiency. This can be due to diet and lifestyle choices, for example; those that choose a vegetarian diet cannot absorb zinc as effectively as others. Those of you that enjoy alcohol regularly may also suffer from a zinc deficiency. Elderly people and those who are pregnant may need more zinc in their diet.
Zinc helps keep your immune system and metabolism well armed and healthy. It is beneficial for those with Herpes, AIDS, and Alzheimer’s Disease. It also plays an important role in your sense of smell and taste.
At this point you may be wondering - how do I know if I need more Zinc?
Several signs of a Zinc deficiency are:
Insulin resistance
Hair Loss
Recurrent Infection
Lethargy
Seasonal Allergies
Slow Healing
Obesity
Children who suffer from ADHD often show low levels of Zinc.
These signs don’t guarantee you have a Zinc deficiency, but it is worth asking your healthcare provider if you notice any of them.
If your Doctor believes you are deficient they may recommend a change in diet to Zinc rich foods. Such as including more red meat or hemp seeds, or they may offer you a supplement form of Zinc.
At Evertruth Healing we recommend ZN-Comp by Innovita, one of our best selling brands. We sell it in capsule form that is formulated with rice proteins to help your body absorb the Zinc it craves.
*We must disclaim to you that occasionally zinc may work against pharmaceutical drugs, so we recommend you take your Zinc separate from prescription drugs, an hour or two before or after would allow the body to process them separately
